College Coach: Ms. Liz Canales


Hi my name is Liz Canales and I am your College Coach for Cholla High School. I'm orignally from Southern California where I graduated with B.S. in Behavioral Sciences from the University of La Verne in 2007. I am also a proud Wildcat graduating with my M.A in Higher Eduation from the University of Arizona in May 2009.

I am Salvadoran-American and was the first in my family to attend and graduate from a university. My hobbies include reading, spending time with my familia, cooking and yoga!

The favorite part of my job is helping minority, low-income, first-generation students, like me, become college willing, college ready and college going!!!

The College Academy for Parents (CAP)
College Coach Liz Canales and AVID/IB counselor Lupita Espinoza are facilitating the College Academy for Parents (CAP) a series of two-hour college knowledge workshops for parents and their sophomore students. They are being held at Cholla every Thursday at 6 p.m. The English workshops are being held in the library and the Spanish workshops are in the cafeteria.
